A staff member of Brad Pitt’s team leaked an audio recording capturing Pitt making derogatory remarks about a woman who was s.c.a.m.m.e.d. out of $1 million under his identity, leaving fans furious.

A French woman recently shared a harrowing tale of falling victim to a sophisticated catfishing scheme in which a scammer,

posing as Brad Pitt, allegedly swindled her out of nearly $850,000.

The woman, identified as Anne, revealed her heartbreaking experience during an appearance on the French news show *Sept à huit*,

detailing how she believed she was in a romantic relationship with the Oscar-winning actor.

The scheme unfolded over months of online communication, culminating in the woman giving away a large portion of her life savings.

Anne’s ordeal began when she was initially contacted by someone claiming to be Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt.

She confessed that she wasn’t well-versed in social media and didn’t fully understand the digital world, which made her vulnerable to the deception. The scammer who contacted Anne went on to introduce himself as Brad, claiming that his mother had spoken highly of her. What followed was a series of messages and love poems that seemed to solidify the connection between Anne and the man she believed to be Pitt.

As their correspondence continued, Anne became emotionally invested in the relationship. She spoke fondly of the way the supposed Brad Pitt communicated with her, recounting how he knew exactly how to speak to women and always made her feel special. “There are so few men who write you this kind of thing,” Anne said, expressing how she felt a genuine bond with her online partner.

The scammer, however, had an ulterior motive. When Anne disclosed that she had recently come into a large sum of money through a divorce settlement, the man posing as Brad Pitt claimed that he had been locked out of his bank accounts following a divorce from Angelina Jolie. He told her that he needed a loan to cover the costs of urgent cancer treatments. The fake Brad even sent Anne images of supposed hospitalizations, which, in hindsight, appeared to be artificially generated. Anne, moved by the emotional plea, decided to send the funds. “It hurt me to do it, but I told myself that I might save a man’s life,” she explained.

The scam continued as Anne wired large sums of money to the imposter, believing that she was helping the man she loved. She only realized she had been duped when photos surfaced of the real Brad Pitt appearing publicly with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. By this time, Anne had already transferred approximately $850,000 to the fraudster.

Devastated by the betrayal, Anne reflected on the emotional toll the scam had taken on her. “I ask myself why they chose me to do such harm like this?” she questioned during her interview, adding that she had never harmed anyone and felt deeply violated by the scam. She also expressed her anger toward the perpetrators, saying, “These people deserve hell.”

In response to the incident, Brad Pitt’s representative issued a statement condemning the scam and offering advice to fans. “It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities,” the spokesperson said. “But this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence.” Pitt’s lack of verified social media accounts, including on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), made it clear that any online communication purporting to be from him was likely a scam.

The story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online deception, particularly when it involves high-profile figures like Brad Pitt, whose image is easily exploited for financial gain. While the woman, Anne, is still processing the emotional and financial aftermath of the scam, her story has brought attention to the lengths scammers will go to exploit vulnerable individuals.

As for Brad Pitt, he continues to maintain a low profile on social media, which has made it easier for scammers to impersonate him online. The actor’s spokesperson reiterated the importance of being cautious when engaging with unsolicited messages online, especially from individuals claiming to be celebrities with no verified presence.

Anne’s ordeal has sparked a larger conversation about the risks of online dating and the need for vigilance in an increasingly digital world. While the experience has been devastating, Anne hopes that sharing her story will help others avoid falling into similar traps.
