Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz recently sat down for a fun and thought-provoking interview with Complex to promote their upcoming Netflix film *Back in Action*.
The conversation, which took place on Complex’s *GOAT Talk*, not only delved into the pair’s longstanding friendship
but also ventured into more unconventional territory, leaving Foxx visibly stunned by Diaz’s speculative thoughts on humanity, evolution, and space travel.
Foxx and Diaz, who have known each other since filming *Any Given Sunday* in 1999,
also took the opportunity to poke fun at some of the rumors surrounding them, particularly the alleged tension between the two.
However, their lighthearted banter quickly turned to more profound topics when Diaz shared some of her more unconventional theories about humanity’s future.
Diaz, ever the curious mind, suggested that as humans continue to rely more heavily on screens and technology, our physical evolution might follow the stereotypical traits often associated with aliens, such as “big heads, big eyes,” and “long dexterous fingers.” Her speculation that humanity could evolve into a form resembling alien depictions left Foxx wide-eyed, unable to hide his surprise at her bold ideas.
But Diaz wasn’t finished with her cosmic musings just yet. In a playful quip about space exploration, Diaz brought up Elon Musk, joking, “And we all know that we’re moving off the planet because now Elon Musk is our president.” She then added, “We’re gonna end up on Mars, right?” Her comment about humanity’s potential future on Mars took a more intriguing turn when she speculated that, when humans finally make it to the Red Planet, they could become an entirely new species over time. “When we get to Mars, we’re really going to end up being like a completely different species,” she said. Diaz further explained her theory, noting that, much like humans today dig up artifacts from ancient civilizations, beings on Mars will one day unearth remnants of our current technology. “We will have all the technology that the aliens have that are visiting us here on the planet,” Diaz proposed. “And those aliens will be us traveling back in time to study who they were at any particular moment… They’re us, basically.”
Foxx’s reaction to this mind-bending theory was priceless. “When you told me that, that f****d me up driving home,” Foxx admitted, still trying to process the idea. He humorously added, “If we’re supposed to be running this whole thing, how the f— I get stopped by the cops the other day?” to lighten the mood. In a classic Foxx move, he quipped, “Can the Illuminati come, tell him to get off my a–?” before quickly clarifying, “I love police officers.”
Beyond the wild discussions about aliens and the future of humanity, Foxx and Diaz also took the time to clear up any misconceptions about their relationship. The pair addressed rumors of a supposed feud, with Foxx joking, “Back in action! Back in action! Satisfaction! We’re back in action.” He continued singing a playful tune, emphasizing how long they’ve known each other and how their friendship has endured over the years. Diaz joined in, reminiscing fondly about their time working together on *Any Given Sunday*. “True, since we were in *Any Given Sunday* together, which was in 1999. And now, we’re back in action, baby!” she added, proving that despite the rumors, their bond has only strengthened with time.
As the two actors continue to promote their upcoming film, it’s clear that their friendship remains a central part of their dynamic, both on and off the screen. Diaz’s unexpected theories on human evolution and space exploration may have caught Foxx off guard, but it’s this playful and candid energy that makes their collaboration so entertaining for fans. With *Back in Action* on the horizon, it’s safe to say that the chemistry between Diaz and Foxx is as strong as ever, and their fans are excited to see what comes next for the dynamic duo.
