A woman unexpectedly came forward, claiming Brad Pitt “used her for s3x” and “sc@mmed her,” shaking the entertainment industry: “I even paid to support him…”

A devastating social media scam has left a French woman reeling after being duped out of $850,000 over the course of a year.

The 53-year-old interior designer, identified only as Anne, was tricked into believing she was romantically involved with none other than Hollywood star Brad Pitt.

What started as a seemingly innocent online connection turned into a financial

and emotional nightmare, with Anne eventually losing her life’s savings to scammers who posed as the actor.

The scam began innocently enough when Anne was contacted by someone claiming to be Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane.

The message was simple but compelling, saying that her son needed someone like Anne.

Initially skeptical, Anne dismissed the message as a fake, but as the interaction continued, the con artists employed a more elaborate scheme. They sent her personalized poems and a series of photoshopped images of Pitt, which slowly began to convince her that the actor was truly in need of help.

The scammers, who used AI-generated images to depict Pitt in various compromising situations, convinced Anne that the actor was hospitalized and needed immediate financial assistance for a kidney treatment. They explained that due to Pitt’s ongoing and bitter divorce from his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, the actor could not access his bank accounts and had no other means of paying for the medical treatment. The timing of the scam aligned with the high-profile nature of Pitt and Jolie’s divorce, which had been dragging on for years but was recently settled in court.

Believing the fake story, Anne continued to communicate with the scammer posing as Pitt. Over time, she was emotionally manipulated into believing that she and the actor were developing a romantic bond. The scammers used increasingly convincing tactics, including sending Anne messages that appeared to come directly from Pitt, fueling her emotional attachment to the fraudulent relationship. At one point, Anne even made the drastic decision to divorce her husband, thinking that she would eventually be with Pitt in person.

Anne’s involvement in the scam escalated as she was persuaded to transfer large sums of money to the fake Pitt’s “account” to help with his medical expenses. The scammers painted a picture of a desperate Pitt, in dire need of funds for his kidney treatment. The emotional manipulation, combined with the fabricated images and messages, led Anne to hand over nearly $850,000. She believed the man she was communicating with was the real Brad Pitt, and trusted the connection she had made with him through social media.

It was only when Anne came across reports about Pitt’s ongoing relationship with Ines de Ramon, a real-life romantic partner of the actor, that she began to doubt the authenticity of the messages. After seeing pictures of Pitt with de Ramon, Anne realized that she had been deceived. Her world came crashing down as the reality of the scam set in, and the realization that she had been the victim of an elaborate online con began to sink in.

Anne later expressed her bewilderment and sorrow over the entire ordeal. “I ask myself why they chose me to do such harm like this?” she told French network TF1 in a segment that was later pulled due to a flood of online trolls. Her emotional distress was compounded by the fact that she had put so much trust in the scammer and had made life-changing decisions based on their manipulation.

This heart-wrenching case serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of online scams, particularly those that prey on people’s emotions and trust. As social media becomes more ingrained in our daily lives, the ability for scammers to pose as celebrities and manipulate vulnerable individuals grows. The use of AI-generated images, along with personalized messages and fabricated stories, has made it easier for fraudsters to gain the trust of their victims.

Anne’s story highlights the need for increased awareness and caution when interacting with strangers on social media. It also underscores the emotional toll that such scams can take on their victims, who may not always recognize the red flags in the early stages of the scam. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it is crucial for people to protect their personal information and be mindful of the potential for exploitation by those with malicious intentions.
