FINAL FLASH? Wendy Williams left fans worried for her passing after suddenly displaying unusual clarity following years of cognitive decline.

Wendy Williams, the iconic television personality, revealed her heartbreaking struggles during a candid and emotional interview on “The Breakfast Club” Thursday morning.

The 60-year-old former talk show host, who has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022,

called in to share her experience of being “trapped” in a facility in New York where she is under strict control.

Williams, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2023, expressed her distress over being unable to access basic communication tools like a laptop or iPad.

She explained that while she can make phone calls to loved ones, they are not allowed to call her.

During the interview, a visibly emotional Williams insisted that she is “not cognitively impaired,” stating, “Do I seem that way, God damn it?”

This emotional plea was a powerful reminder of the struggles Williams has faced, as she continues to assert her cognitive abilities despite the medical diagnosis.

In the interview, Williams opened up about her current situation in the facility, describing it as a form of isolation. “My life is f–ked up,” she said, breaking down in tears. She compared her confinement to being in a prison, stating that the facility’s high security and lack of freedom made her feel trapped. “I’m definitely isolated. I keep the door closed, I watch TV, listen to the radio and look out the window. Sit here as my life goes by,” she explained.

She also shared the emotional toll her situation has taken on her, revealing that she has not seen her beloved cats in months, claiming that they are “gone.” This sense of loss, coupled with her lack of control over her life, only deepened Williams’ frustration and sense of powerlessness.

Williams also spoke about her deep longing to see her father on his 94th birthday, which she feared may not happen due to her guardianship restrictions. Sobbing, she said, “I don’t know if I’m going to be able to see my dad on his 94th birthday. The day after that is not promised.” Williams emphasized that her last three birthdays were spent alone in the facility, further highlighting the emotional isolation she feels.

Her niece, Alex Finnie, was present during the interview and defended Williams’ mental state. Finnie, who has been a close supporter of Williams, assured listeners that her aunt’s behavior is consistent with her personality, stating, “Anybody that knows my aunt knows she’s always been a unique personality. How she’s talking, that’s her. That’s who she is. Don’t try to twist how she is.” This statement was in response to critics who may question Williams’ current state of mind.

The conversation also touched upon the upcoming 2024 Lifetime docuseries, *Where Is Wendy Williams?*, which has sparked legal battles. Wendy’s guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, filed a lawsuit to prevent the documentary from airing, claiming that Williams is not in a state to participate. However, A&E and Lifetime countersued, stating that Morrissey was aware of the struggles the docuseries would expose. Williams weighed in on the matter, explaining that she had initially wanted the documentary to be made. “She was the one who wanted to do that, you understand what I’m saying?” Williams said, adding that the system overseeing her guardianship is broken. “This system has falsified a lot,” she declared, expressing her belief that the situation is unfair and harmful.

Morrissey, in her ongoing legal actions, has described Williams as “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” due to her dementia diagnosis. Despite this, Williams continues to assert that she is capable of making decisions about her life and wants to be freed from her guardianship.

Williams’ reemergence into the public eye has been rare, but she did attend her son Kevin Jr.’s graduation in December 2024. In the same month, she was seen smiling in a car with her nephew, Travis Finnie, during a trip to Fort Lauderdale, where she also greeted fans with her signature catchphrase, “How you doin’?”

As Wendy Williams continues to fight for her autonomy, her emotional plea on *The Breakfast Club* has shed light on the challenges of being under a conservatorship, particularly when the person involved feels misunderstood and isolated. Whether her situation will change remains uncertain, but Williams’ voice remains powerful, as she calls for freedom and the chance to reclaim control over her own life.
