Nicole Kidman left fans speechless by confessing she has been “walking around n@ked” ever since welcoming her daughter, Sunday. Why?

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are still processing the shock of a recent break-in at their Beverly Hills home, adding them to the growing list of celebrities targeted in home invasions.

NFL stars like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have also fallen victim to similar crimes, highlighting the concerning trend.

However, despite the unsettling incident, there has been uplifting news for the acclaimed actress.

On February 20, Kidman was honored as one of TIME’s Women of the Year for 2025, joining a prestigious group of influential figures.

The celebrated list of honorees includes Laufey, Anna Sawai, and Olivia Munn, among others, with Kidman, A’ja Wilson, and Jordan Chiles each receiving their own cover feature.

The announcement comes as a bright spot amid the distress of the break-in, reaffirming Kidman’s ongoing influence and contributions to the industry.

Kidman sat down for an interview with TIME in Nashville, where she reflected on both personal and professional aspects of her life. The actress, who shares two teenage daughters, Sunday and Faith, with Urban, spoke candidly about her early struggles with motherhood. She recalled being unable to breastfeed initially and how her sister, Antonia Kidman, provided support. “I was so terrified, asking, ‘What just happened? Where’s my milk?’” she shared, highlighting the anxieties many new mothers face. She credited her sister’s wisdom as a mother of five for guiding her through the experience.

Oscar-winning director and longtime collaborator Jane Campion contributed to the interview, speaking about Kidman’s work ethic and emotional depth as an actress. Campion praised Kidman’s ability to bring rawness to her performances, a trait she believes many actors shy away from. She remarked, “People believe if you have power, you don’t have to go to a place of vulnerability. A lot of actors won’t do that because it’s uncomfortable.”

The conversation also touched on Kidman’s early years in Hollywood, particularly during her high-profile marriage to Tom Cruise. Campion noted that during that time, many in America viewed Kidman primarily as “Mrs. Cruise,” rather than as the accomplished actress she had already become in Australia. “By the time she was married to Tom, people in America didn’t understand Nicole had a whole career in Australia that was revered,” she said. Kidman herself acknowledged that she struggled with the perception that she was merely riding on Cruise’s career rather than forging her own path.

Despite her continued success, Kidman admitted that she, like anyone else, has moments of exhaustion and doubt. The idea of her being an unstoppable workhorse has been a common perception, but she refuted the notion of being “superwoman.” She spoke about times when she considered stepping away from acting, citing moments of harsh criticism, personal loss, and self-doubt. “When there was nothing exciting or relevant coming my way, when there was massive criticism or bullying, when your self-esteem is shattered, when you’ve been hit with some massive loss or grief and go, ‘I don’t want to get out of bed. It’s too frightening,’” she said.

Campion reinforced that Kidman’s fulfillment ultimately comes from her work, rather than the fluctuating nature of stardom. “She’s always been a star, and that star has come up and come down, but Nicole knows that in itself is not what makes her happy. What makes her happy is her work.”

The TIME honor serves as recognition of Kidman’s dedication to her craft, resilience, and the powerful impact she continues to have. As she moves forward in both her personal and professional life, she remains an emblem of strength and perseverance, proving that even in the face of challenges, she continues to shine.
